FAQs · सवाल-जवाब
Ten honest answers.
The questions Kunal actually gets asked, in the order he gets asked them. Not legal-team-vetted marketing copy.
Q1. How is Tiffin Tales different from a regular cloud kitchen on Swiggy / Zomato? +
Most "cloud kitchens" on the aggregators are 12–22 ghost-brand listings out of one shared kitchen — same dal, different name, no chef accountability. Tiffin Tales is the opposite: 4 real brands, 4 real chef teams, 4 real SOPs, 1 FSSAI Cat-A licence. Each brand has a named head chef, distinct ingredient line, and a printed quality checklist photographed before sealing. We have refused 3 ghost-brand pitches and we will keep refusing — the model is the marketing.
Q2. Are you 100% pure veg? What about eggs, alcohol-extract flavourings, "no onion-garlic" Jain meals? +
Yes, 100% pure-veg, 100% of the time, on the entire kitchen floor — no exceptions. Zero meat, zero eggs, zero alcohol-based flavour extracts ever cross the FSSAI threshold. For Jain meals (no onion-garlic, no root vegetables) we maintain dedicated cookware, dedicated chopping boards, dedicated sauté pans (separately marked + stored), and Jain orders are prepared FIRST in the morning before the day-mode tarka base is built. This is not a "Jain option" — it is a Jain protocol with audit trail.
Q3. Why is the price on your website lower than on Swiggy / Zomato? +
Swiggy / Zomato / Magicpin charge us 22–28% commission on every order. The platform also deducts 1.4% payment-gateway fee. We pass that saving forward — order on the Tiffin Tales app or direct on WhatsApp and you pay ~12% lower than the Swiggy listed price (we keep ~10–13% as our own margin instead of giving it to the aggregator). Same kitchen, same packaging, same in-house delivery rider — typically 3–5 minutes faster on direct orders too because the aggregator queue layer is removed.
Q4. How does the weekly tiffin subscription work? What if I want to skip days? +
5-day or 6-day weekly subscriptions, billed in advance — Singh Kitchen ₹880/week (lunch only) up to Sattvik Bowls ₹1,180/week. Skip-anytime by 9 PM the prior evening via the app or WhatsApp — you get a credit roll-forward, not a refund. Pause for vacations (auto-resume on a chosen date). Holiday calendar: we are closed on Mahalaya / Diwali / Holi / Eid (out of respect for our staff who need those festivals). Subscriptions auto-skip those days at no charge.
Q5. I have severe food allergies (gluten / nuts / dairy). Can you accommodate? +
Yes, with caveats — and we are honest about the caveats. Gluten-free (rice-based meals, no wheat phulka): yes, fully accommodated, separate prep timeline. Nut-free (no cashew/raisin/peanut): yes, but Biryani Tales uses cashew systemically, so we recommend Singh Kitchen or Sattvik Bowls instead. Dairy-free (vegan): partially — we cook in mustard or sunflower oil for vegan orders instead of ghee, but cross-contamination risk is non-zero in a shared kitchen even with our protocols. For severe vegan/lactose customers we say so honestly upfront — we do not over-promise.
Q6. What is the actual delivery radius? Do you deliver to my office / home? +
6 km radius from HSR Layout BDA Layout — covers Sarjapur Road / Bellandur / Marathahalli / Bommanahalli / Koramangala / parts of Indiranagar. Type your pin code at order time — if you are outside the in-house rider radius the app routes you to the Swiggy/Zomato listing automatically (which has a 8 km Swiggy radius). Most working professionals in HSR / Sarjapur / Bellandur tech-corridor get 12–22 minute delivery on direct orders.
Q7. Can corporate offices / co-living buildings sign up for daily / weekly canteen contracts? +
Yes — and corporate canteen contracts are ~38% of our weekly volume already. Minimum: 50 daily tiffins, 5-day-week. We provide a daily photo-feed of the assembled tiffins (audit trail), monthly GST-format invoicing, dietary-protocol customisation per company (some firms want pure Jain default, some want lighter Sattvik default, some want a mix). We currently serve 4 anchor accounts — Sequoia / Razorpay / Cred / Stanza Coliv — and we have referenceable contracts. Mail hello@apnisite.in to start.
Q8. I want to see the kitchen before I subscribe. Is that possible? +
Yes — and we encourage it. Saturday 11 AM – 1 PM kitchen walk-throughs open to subscribers + corporate buyers. Book via the app. You will see: FSSAI Cat-A signage, the brand-segregated stations, the Jain-protocol cookware, the live CCTV feed monitor, the daily ingredient log. Walking subscribers get a free Sattvik bowl on their first visit. Subscribers also get auth-gated 24×7 live CCTV kitchen feed in the app (on the "Kitchen Live" tab) — transparency over branding.
Q9. How does the Awadhi Veg Biryani actually compare to a Lucknow biryani place? +
It is a real Awadhi-style slow-dum biryani — 90 minutes, sealed lid, 5 distinct layers, real Kashmiri saffron, fresh paneer plated on top. The recipe was developed by Chef Iqbal (yes — our pure-veg biryani head, ex-Lucknow Tunday-trained chef who chose to switch to a 100% pure-veg kitchen for personal reasons). Do not expect mutton/chicken biryani memories — expect the biryani technique applied to paneer + cashew + saffron. We get returning Lucknow / Hyderabad food-purists ordering it — and that is the strongest endorsement we can offer.
Q10. Do you have walk-in / dine-in seating? +
No — Tiffin Tales is a pure cloud kitchen (FSSAI Cat-A cloud-kitchen-only licence). We do not have public dine-in seating. We do have a 3-seat counter at the kitchen pass-window where walk-in pickup orders can wait or eat (~4 sq m, no chairs reserved). Our model is delivery + subscription + corporate canteen. If you want a sit-down restaurant experience for Awadhi paneer biryani, we will be honest and recommend places. We are good at one model and we do not pretend otherwise.
